Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I was moody, on anti-depressants/anxiety pills, and called myself a fat a** on the daily. I was the girl that cried in dressing rooms when I tried to shop for clothes. Not to mention, I am really tall. Being tall and overweight does not do much for your self esteem. I knew that “someday” I wanted a body that I would be happy with! I just ignored it mostly, and thought being overweight would “go away” if I hid it by buying baggy clothes.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?

During my pregnancy, I was high risk due to my high blood pressure. My high blood pressure was due to being overweight and pregnant, and I had to be on bed-rest. If I would have made better choices, I wouldn’t have gotten to the point that I did. My OBGYN urged me to see my primary physician to get on blood pressure meds. So, on January 9th of 2014, I went to visit with my doctor. Instead of shoving meds down my throat, he said “I want you to try to lose 30 pounds in 90 days by eating healthier and exercising”. You can look at transformation stories all day long, but sometimes that isn’t enough. Some people, myself included, need a wake-up call from their doctor. That’s where it all began…

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?

I have a two year old son; I was making excuses as to why I didn’t have the time to exercise and eat healthy because I had to stay home at take care of him. Having a two year old is demanding. I didn’t have the right amount of desire to change. My doctor helped to push me. Beachbody helped me tremendously because I had started the Slim in 6 program, but without a Coach or Challenge Group. A woman I used to work with (who is now my upline Coach) had me join her group, and I am still doing Beachbody programs today (and am a Coach myself!!) Eek! I love it. :)

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
With Slim in 6, I loved that it was low-impact, yet so effective. With 21 Day Fix, I loved that it was 30 minute workouts that kicked my butt, and so easy to follow the container meal plan. I especially loved that I looked forward to working out every day! T25 was challenging for me, but after I completed that, I still kept the momentum going! I am currently doing PiYo, and I have fallen in love with it. It clears my mind, and it is a great program for measuring your strength progress. I hope to be an instructor someday!

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
Who wouldn’t be proud of losing 80 pounds?!? But aside from the scale, I love how strong I feel. I can do things fitness wise that I never thought I could. This is the first time in my 30 year old life that I have been fit.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I am most excited about this question. My life has done a 180. I am now a Beachbody Coach, and sharing my journey with others to help inspire them to lead healthier lives. In addition, I am studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a certified holistic health coach. I just had a physical with my doctor, and to hear him say that I am a great example to everyone who wants to improve their health and fitness level was very moving. He also offered to refer his patients that need help with weight loss and nutrition to me. There are no words to express how accomplished I felt after hearing a doctor praise me the way he did. Also, I feel like I am a much better wife and mother. I can keep up with my son. I can climb on playground equipment with him, lift him above my head when he wants to be Superman, and race around the house with him. My husband and I got to cross off a bucket list item of ours to go ziplining together because now I am within the weight limit!

How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
The biggest issue that most people have with completing Beachbody programs or any fitness regimen, is that they don’t have support or anyone to keep them accountable. I knew I was one of those people, so when my Coach asked me to join her Challenge Group, I was all over it. I had quit so many times in the past, but having that support and accountability has kept me going to this day. I have developed several friendships from that first Challenge Group, and they have watched me on my journey since. It is so amazing what I learned about the Beachbody community from joining a Challenge Group. Because my Beachbody family helped me to prove to others that this can be done, I now get continuing support from friends and family, and feel like I am successful as a Coach.

How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey?
Sarah would never allow her Coaches or challengers to go frustrated without offering solutions or positive advice to help change their outlook. Personally, she has always been quick to respond to my questions and concerns, even though I know she is crazy busy herself. She is very real, and gives me the kind of tough love that I need! She deserves all of the recognition in the world for being the amazing Coach, and mentor, that she is!

How did a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program (such as Shakeology® or Beachbody Ultimate Reset®) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, digestion/regularity?

I love my Shakeology! It makes me forget why I always used to want a greasy cheeseburger! It has also helped to make me regular, and helped me to not overeat. I have more energy, and my mood has improved significantly! It didn’t take long to notice those differences, either!

How did a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program affect any existing health conditions you have?

My biggest problem was my high blood pressure, due to me being so overweight. Obviously, Shakeology and the programs I have done have helped both of those.

Did you achieve any other measurable improvements with a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program? (e.g. Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, triglycerides, etc…)
My blood pressure went from 154/96 to 116/74. No pills for this girl!! Bam! :)
